Description

The Johnson Controls A-4417-1 is a refrigerated air drier for pneumatic control systems. The device supplies systems with dry air to ensure continuous operations. All A-4400 series air driers from JC use R-134a technology that uses hydrofluorocarbons (HFC) to minimize emissions of harmful refrigerants. The build quality provides long service life with durable components and minimal maintenance.

Features and Benefits

• Peak performance. Variety of filter (particle, activated carbon, coalescing filters) and pressure reducing technologies result in the cleanest indoor air quality. The water removal is consistent under all conditions (even at critical low-load operation points) without freezing. Thanks to the design of the evaporator, the air drier don’t need hot gas bypass valve, further minimizing maintenance.
• Environmentally-friendly. The A-4417-1 air drier uses HFC refrigerants to reduce emissions of harmful particulates to a minimum.
• Optional factory-mounted air purification system. A-4417-1 drier comes with a complete instrumentation kit with gauges, filter pressure drop indicator, and on-fail lamp with comprehensible visual identification.
• Various size options. The A-4400 series refrigerated air drier comes in three standardized flow capacity sizes. You will install and set the device up with minimal effort and costs.
• Easy to set up. Factory mounting and pipings with a service bypass valve reduce the time needed to install the device.

Installation

• All A-4400 series refrigerated air driers by Johnson Controls have similar installation methods.
• Place A-4417 at an open area with unrestricted air circulation through both ends of the device.
• Ensure both ends have 12 inches (305mm) of clearance with about 10 inches (254mm) of bottom clearance.
• The key slots for wall mounting can be adjusted by hand with the help of mounting bolts (about 1/2 inches or 13mm of adjustability).
• Connect drain line to coalescing oil removal filter and condensate drain trap after mounting the air drier.
• The drain line fitting should be tightened up in both locations.
